I enjoy comedy because it serves as a contrast to the day to day management of a brokerage firm. I am excited to come away with a win from the Wildcard night in Chattanooga and will continue to hone new material for future competitions in my spare time.

Greg Hold is the manager of his worldwide financial group of companies, Hold Brothers, the longest running day trading conglomerate in the world. By night, he is a New York City based comedian.  Seeking to be better trained for his public speaking engagements at finance industry events and conferences, Greg pursues comedy performances as a hobby.

Long suspicious that he has an excellent comedic writing ability, he finally found time to subject audiences to his pithy, dry and clean humor about things like his nerdy guy problems, relationships, and the state of the world. Drawing on his professional knowledge, Greg uses his performances to speak on issues of market structure, compliance and reform, possessing the ability to both make people laugh across the room, or to put them to sleep.

Greg performs several nights a week, all over Manhattan and often at the Gotham Comedy Club. In June 2016, Greg took third place in the Funniest in Finance competition at Gotham Comedy Club, where he performed in two nights of preliminaries and one night of finals in front of a sold out audience of over 300 people. More recently, Greg was selected to perform in the San Diego Comedy Festival, the Cleveland Comedy Festival, and in the Winter Laughs competition as part of the Winter Film Awards. Greg has also participated in the World Series of Comedy where he has been selected to perform in Chattanooga, Pittsburgh, and Colorado Springs. In Chattanooga, Greg took first place in the preliminaries and moved on to the next round. Most recently, in Cleveland Greg took second in the Prelims Night, advancing him to he finals of the competition.
